Crazy Hair Days
My dad and I used to collect Coca-Cola memorabilia, that is when I got these ad's. These are from the back of old National Geographic Magazines. The ad with the woman hooked up to the old perm machine makes me think of having a bad hair day. The one with the two women under hairdryers says getting ready for Friday night.

Paperweights
The outer glass on these two paperweights are colored, one blue and the other one amber these are the only two I have like this. These are both secondhand store finds. The blue one reminds me of a seascape and the amber one reminds me of fall.

Almost A Missed Fire King Find
These Fire King mixing bowls were almost a missed find as I almost skipped the row they were at the flea market. I decided to do the row after all, good thing I did since these bowls were what I found.
I don't know what this pattern is called, if anyone does please let me know?
Only Find Of The Day
This green Fire King bowl is a cereal size bowl. On the day I found it, it was my only find of the day.

Blue Mountain Pottery
A Short History
Blue Mountain Pottery started in 1947 and was Canada's largest manufacturer of quality giftware. It was located in Collingwood, Ontario. The rich red clay used, the way it was moulded and the glazing technique call "Reflowing Decorating" is what made it unique. The pottery came in many colors.
Sadly their doors closed in 2004.
My Memories Of Blue Mountain
Blue Mountain Pottery is something my grandmother had a collection of, I remember seeing at her house. The blue color was always my favorite.
In the 1970's my family went on vacation to Barkerville a historic town in British Columbia and in the saloon my root beer came in a mug that looked like it could be Blue Mountain.

I like Celtic Jewerly but have a hard time finding pieces (trying to convince someone to go to Ireland or Scotland) so I was quite happy to find this brooch at an antique fair. It was made in Scotland the stones are either purple glass or amethyst I haven't found out since I don't care I like it either way.
I didn't buy it but I did unwraped it on Christmas Eve. It was a surprise and a wonderful gift from my boyfriend.

Vintage Chip & Dip Bowls
I believe all these chip and dip bowls are from the 1960's though the one that is an orangey peachy color that looks like paint that was splatter on it I'm not sure of the date.
I've always liked these chip and dip bowls I can remember family parties and my aunts having them out with chips and dip in them.

The End Of My Green Theme.
Happy St. Patrick's Day
The following blessing is one I've always liked I can remember Sunday nights watching the Irish Rovers and this blessing would be recited at the end of the show.

An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
From The Family Pictures
This picture holds a special place in my heart it was taken in the early 1940's the car was green and stayed in the family till the 1980's.

It's All About the Flowers
I'm waiting patiently for the sunny type of Spring but all we have is Spring showers.
This Hydrangea makes me dream of pretty flowers.
The flower paperweight is my Spring and Summer in the house. I can't have plants in the house because my boyfriend has cats and one of them is stupid enough to eat them. A vet bill for over a thousand dollars proved this. The cats where here first so I'm out of luck.
The green flower frog is green cloudy glass with some fractures in it, made in England around the 1930's. It's one of my favorites even with it's imperfections. I got it at a flea market and I almost missed it, it was on a shelving unit behind other things.
and here is the reason plants are outside not inside:
Its almost spring - next Tuesday.

Sally Ann and Flea Finds
My Surprise Find
I was surprised when I was scouring through a Salvation Army store and this brooch caught my eye and when I turned it over I found the Sherman name. Sherman jewelry is one of the finer lines of Canadian costume jewelry made with Swarovski crystals. I have only a few pieces of Sherman jewelry but the search is still on.
Flea Market Finds
This day started out with an umbrella and a stop at Tim Horton's for my medium coffee. Roll up the rim is on but sadly I only got please play again, my boyfriend threw out his in the flea market garbage can without looking my chance of a car may be in the garbage. We were about to leave only with a few tables left and I thought our trip was going to be a bust when I found these vintage Anchor Hocking Fire King stacking mugs with flowers on them.

Groovin' Back To The 60's
This dress has me thinking of the music of the 60's and of a really great year for music the Summer Of Love 1967.
It came out of a box of vintage material I got that had belonged to my grandmother and it was made in the 60's. I thought the black leather purse with the flowers kind of went with it, I found it in a second hand store.

A Little Feel Of Spring
A Little Feel Of Spring
My Hyacinths at my front door help me think of Spring coming soon.
My Small White Pyrex Collection
By scouring thrift stores and second hand stores I've only come up with these two vintage Hamilton Beach mixer bowls with a ribbed pattern. The smallest container of a stackable oven refrigerator set they were introduced in the 40's. Of course my search is still on I need to find the missing glass lid for this container. And my one small vintage white bowl.
Paperweight
I found this paperweight at the flea market all the swirling colors

I Love Lucy Postcard
As soon as I saw the I Love Lucy postcard at the secondhand store I had to put it in my basket. I can remember watching the show in reruns as a child and it brought back many memories. This postcard is from the 5th season of the I Love Lucy show when they go on their European vacation 1955 - 1956.
The episode was #145 titled "Paris At Last" with Maurice Marsac as the waiter, it was originally broadcasted February 27, 1956.
Had to have it.
My all time favorite performance by Lucille Ball was when she starred in the movie Yours, Mine And Ours a 1968 movie with Henry Fonda. I love that movie, I've had it in VHS and now DVD.
