January 25th is Robbie Burns day so I thought I would go with a Scottish theme in this post. I've always liked tartan fabrics I don't know if it has anything to do with my mom dressing me in kilts all the time when I was a child. You would have thought the family was originally from Scotland then England if you had seen my closet as a child.
Robbie Burns is regarded as one of Scotland's most well known poets . He was born on January 25, 1759 and died July 21, 1796.
All the above pieces of jewelry are Scottish pieces all have a thistle as part of the design.

Some vintage canning jars with some old buttons my fiancé found last year at a garage sale.
I managed to scoop this divided Pyrex dish with the Constellation pattern minus the lid when it came out in the bin at the second hand store.
At work there's a few of us who like or collect vintage items. I borrowed this vintage wedding dress to show you all from one of my fellow collectors. This dress is very fragile with layers of lace.
Wedding Update:
On Saturday I started my active search for a dress this could take awhile.
I told my fiancé to come up with an idea for the wedding he said serve food, he's so helpful.

The Vintage Farmhouse
I'm getting married! We've started planning our wedding for late September or early October. We just told the family on the weekend. Hopefully in future posts I won't bore you too much with wedding plans.
I've posted my grandmother's wedding dress before but I thought I would share it once more. There is not a hope of me wearing it, I am not the right size.
Dahlia's are one of the flowers I'm planning to use to decorate with for the wedding. Ferncliff Gardens is close to where I live and they sell cut Dahlia's. I also plan to raid my garden and my friends gardens.
Okay enough about that, this paperweight I didn't find, I inherited from my fiance's ( boy it's weird not saying boyfriend) mother's collection.
Last Sunday we went to a Christmas market and one of the vendors let me take the picture of this old phone an doorknobs.
As it's nearing the time to start looking and sending out Christmas cards I thought I would share these vintage card boxes I found at my mothers.
I cannot remember if I've posted this pink brooch before or not so I'm posting it now.

This past week I've not had time to get out and look for some new finds so the following are some items I haven't had time to post. On Saturday we had a garage sale that went well though the rain did not stay away the whole time. We had quite a few people, including some interesting characters.

I'm storing my grandmother's vintage wedding dress for my mother. My grandmother would have worn it in November 1943.
The necklace on the top is made by Sherman and a birthday gift to me from my boyfriend.

This picture of these flowers made me think of something you would see at a wedding.
I took this picture of a wedding cake topper at the antique mall.
I saw this classic Limousine stop and some grad students all dressed up got out. I had to go over and have a look I should write information down when I get it but of course I don't if I remember right I believe he said it was a 1938.
I found the Fire King Jadeite mugs at the local secondhand store last week.
