Victoria Day And Some British Items

This year Victoria day falls on May 18th here in Canada which is to celebrate Queen Victoria's Birthday which is actually May 24th.  The picture above is a postcard of  British Columbia's Parliament building in Victoria on Vancouver Island.  The picture below is of a book I picked up a while back of the grand lady herself Queen Victoria.
I Have To Share This With You Before Carrying On With This Post:
My husband told me this past week one day just before we left for work that he had something to tell me that would make me really happy and want to give him lots of kisses.  I threw my arms around his neck gave him a big kiss and told him I would let them know I was quitting at work that day.  He said that wasn't a good idea.  I said well what do you have to rate such a reaction.  He said the shirt I was wearing was on inside out and I might want to fix it before leaving.  So I'm still slaving away at work.  Boy I liked my idea way better.
Lol

The collage is of British themed items.
Top Row: Keep Calm sign, Garden theme books, a stamp with a Dalek from Doctor Who
Middle Row: Jug with Prince Phillip , Collage of British items, Jug with Queen Elizabeth 2nd
Bottom Row: Tardis Piggy Bank and Doctor Who figurine, Bobbie hat bell, Cars from my collection

These postcards are of areas around England.

This is the first time I've posted the top Harrod's bag the bottom one has been posted before.

The Land Rover Defender is a British Vechile I've always liked, the ones in the pictures above are some I see around the Fraser Valley.  I like them all but the middle one is the one I would like to have parked in my driveway.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.
Have a wonderful week.

British Finds And More

On Monday May the 20th its Victoria Day here in British Columbia, Canada so I thought I would post some British items I have found.

This lovely cup and saucer is by Alfred Meakin of England.  The only thing I could find the pattern being called was Bird and Flower.  If you know the pattern name I would love to know what it is.  I found the teabag holder at a local secondhand store, I've never seen one like this so I had to buy it.

Plates of the Royal Family
From left to right

Top:
King George the 5th and Queen Mary 1910 - 1936.
King Edward the 8th January 20th 1936 to December 11th 1936 when he abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson.
Bottom:
King George the 6th and Queen Elizabeth 1936 - 1952.
Queen Elizabeth the 2nd and Prince Phillip 1952 to present.

The first picture is postcards of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd and her family.
The second picture is of a biscuit tin of Trafalgar Square and in front is a toy model of a double decker bus, Harrods delivery truck and a mini.
I found the photo of King George the 6st and Queen Elizabeth on tour in Vancouver, British Columbia May 24th 1939 in an old album I found in a local secondhand store.
I was at a flea market when I found this tray of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd.  The vendor who I bought it off of is one of my favourites to barter with.

This paperweight was a garage sale find.  It does have a sticker on the bottom but it is to faded to read.  It's a great addition to my collection.

The two yellow Pyrex dishes are the small dishes from the refrigerator set I found both with the lids.  The salt and pepper shakers in Corning Ware in the Blue Cornflower pattern.  And a Corning Ware 4 Cup Starburst coffee carafe.
