Christmas Is Coming 2015

I'm trying to come to terms with Christmas coming so soon I love Christmas but each year it feels like it's coming faster and faster.  I need to get busy my Christmas cards need to go out December 01st I'm still making them.  We did get our outdoor lights up a couple of weekends ago so I happy am about that.  I know the rest will get done as the days go by.

I found this postcard in my husbands parents stuff it's 155 - Manoir St-Castin, Lac Beaport, Quebec.  I like old postcards like this especial winter scenes.

This is a Christmas window display I did this year it has a mid century modern feel to it.

The first picture is a snow globe a friend gave me a few years ago it always make me think of the song "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town".  The next picture top left I found a couple of weeks ago it was perfect for my husband it being a fishing Santa.  The 3 Santa's next to him are plastic and on skies I'm not sure if they are vintage or not.  The stocking I got from my grandparents stuff and since I had a Santa theme going I threw in the Wooden Christmas tea boxes with a moon shape Santa face.

This Christmas paperweight is signed Festive Bouquet  Caithness Scotland  10/250.

It's from the large group I received this summer.

This Fire King mug was a chance find as we had a few minutes to stop at a second hand store we hadn't been to in a long time.

My husband found this Porcelain vase by Wade made in Ireland this morning at the flea market and gave it to me.

I found this English Yeoman the picture behind him is from a Elkes Biscuit Limited tin made in Great Britain.

I think the definition for Yeoman in this case would be a servant in a royal or noble household, ranking between a sergeant and a groom or a squire and a page.

Another My Finds / His Finds

Well first things first, I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. We had a family dinner last night at my mothers.  Most of us were able to be there, only a few were missing.

My Finds:

This purse was a second hand store find, it may be going to my niece if she likes the colors.

This carafe is a great find it was made by
Inland Glass.

His Finds:

My fiancé found this Fire King mug at the flea market for me.

This divided Pyrex dish is in the Compass pattern and was also a flea market find.

My sister gave my mom, my cousins fiancé and me each a tie dye rose.

Wedding Update:

I found a backup dress so if I don't find the actual dress I'm looking for so I will still have something to wear.

My Collections / His Collection

In our household I have many collections.  My boyfriend collects fishing stuff.  Some of the following items are some of these things.

Things I Collect:

Art Glass

I actually didn't find this vase, it was from my boyfriends mothers collection.  When I moved in with him it was added to my collection.

Paperweights

I found this paperweight at a local secondhand store.  I added it to my collection of paperweights.

Pyrex

These Pyrex bowls are in the Homestead pattern are part of my collection.

Costume Jewelry

This is a piece of Coro.

Fire King Mugs

My boyfriend found this mug at the flea market it has a Bobwhite Quail on it.

I found this small tin with a fish on it for him at the secondhand store.

A couple of weeks ago the doorbell kept ringing each day with his little ebay spending spree.  The above flies are some of the items he bought all are from England.

A Garden Theme

Today I'm going with a theme of things you would find in my garden or related to something you would find in my garden.

- This birdcage I found in a second hand store a post was added then planted in the garden.
- The licence plates are something I've always Liked the 1967 white plate with red lettering is the year Canada turned 100 love that history connection in the background are my tomato plants. The 1961 plate I got just because I though why shouldn't I have a pink plate.
- I found this oval shaped flower frog at the flea market I'm going to use it on my desk to hold pens.
- Among my holly hocks, Dahlias and blueberries is my flower. The Fire King mug I believe the pattern is Groovy.

A Day Of Travel

This past Wednesday my boyfriend and I got into our car and started on a one day road trip.  We got onto the Trans Canada and  then onto highway #3 heading heading towards Osoyoos, British Columbia.  We were heading out to go through the second hand and antique stores in the Okanogan.  The following pictures are of my finds from the trip.

Finds From Left to Right:
- This black glass vase with a white accent I found at the West Hedley Mall in Hedley, B.C.
- This glass bowl with blue leafs on it was found in an antique store in Keremeos, B.C.
- This green 1950's elf was found in an antique store in Okanagon Falls, B.C.
- This Fire King mug called I believe Flower Power found in a thrift store in Oliver, B.C.
