Glass, Mid Century Modern Finds And Easter

This past week we made it to the second hand stores a few times which is better then once a week like the two previous weeks.  We had some great glass and mid century modern finds.

I found this decanter and six small glasses at a local second hand store.  I think they may be mid century modern.

This dish was a find that I was really happy to make I really like this piece a lot.  It wasn't easy to get a good picture of I'm afraid.

This candle holder was a surprise find.

I don't know when this black vase was made but I really like it.

This red paperweight I have added to my collection I already have a larger one like it in red.

These Fire King bowls I've actually have had for a little while.  I thought they had a Spring feel which is why I'm showing them now.

Back To The Hoosier:

As you can see the Hoosier is decorated for Easter.  Among the Pyrex and Fire King are egg cups with Ukrainian eggs and rabbit molds and other Easter themed things.

From The Family Collection:

This is a picture of me I guess I'm mid century modern too so I fit into this post.
Thank you for taking the time to visit.

Easter's Almost Here

This collage is a collection of finds from secondhand stores and flea markets.  The egg basket and glass egg cups hold eggs I dyed.  Painted eggs are being held in Melmac egg cups.  The chicken egg cups hold eggs which are salt and pepper shakers.  I added the teal and pink Fire King mugs for color.  I also added a Pyrex coffee pot which is missing pieces.  The Baking Soda ad is from a magazine and the apron on the mannequin is from Ikea.

These painted eggs I believe are in the Ukrainian style.

This blue egg cup holder was made in Norway and could be a Figgjo Flint egg cup.  The back two in the same style are homemade egg cups.

This Cicely Mary Barker picture with the fairies holding a egg cup seem perfect for this post.

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter.

A Look At Metal Finds

This past weekend was a metal finding weekend.

This four cup mug holder took me right back to my grandparents cabin when I was a kid.  They had two like this one for holding mugs.  I think they even had one in orange.  I'm thinking of painting this one red with the white Fire King mugs on it.  What do you think paint it or leave it the original colour?

This metal flower frog is the first metal one I've found, all my other ones are in glass.  It was a flea market find.

On our rounds of garage sales I found this green egg basket.  It's a little different then my other two that I've had since moving out of my parents place many years ago. These baskets always seem to make the move with me. They're great for holding things in the basement.  I like hanging them from the rafters.

On The Counter

Linking to

The following finds I can see being part of an Easter window display which is what I've done with them.  I couldn't get a good picture of the display or I would have posted it.  I also can see them in an old farmhouse kitchen being displayed on the counter.

WIRE EGG BASKET
This wire egg basket would be great for a child to use Easter morning to put their Easter eggs in as they find them.  Also you could head out to the hen house to collect your farm fresh eggs.

SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS
This salt and pepper shaker set has a dual purpose you have the eggs which are the salt and pepper shakers sitting in the chickens which are the egg cups.
