Finds & Gardens

The following items are some of my favourite things to find when I'm out at garage sales, flea markets and second hand stores.

This paperweight caught my eye right away as I have nothing like it in my collection it also made me think of Carnival Glass.  I found it at a small parking lot flea market and the person I got it from had it marked by A. Held.  I looked it up on the Internet and only found Robert Held who makes glass pieces.  His studio is Robert Held Art Glass in Vancouver, British Columbia.  I found some vases by him that sort of remind me of my paperweight but no paperweight like mine.  I can not say for sure this is his work.  I enjoyed the chance to look at some of his work.

This piece of Pyrex is a piece from a refrigerator set in the snowflake Blue pattern.  It was a surprise gift from someone where I work who also collects Pyrex.  What a great gift.

These pictures are from around a friend of mine's yard.  She has a beautiful yard with quite a few flowerbeds, a wonderful pond by her patio and a large vegetable garden.  The butterfly brooch just kind of fit in with the garden theme and belongs to her daughter.
The pictures of the bike were sent to me by her daughter to add to my blog.  I love old bikes but do not own any.

Flowers, Time And Travel

Linking with Selena at Apron Thrift Girl

Reno's on a home how do people survive this process.  The painters are now done and I've been hauling boxes and unpacking them trying to get back to some order.  We still have so many things to do and time just seems to be flying by I keep thinking of the Anne Murray song "Time Don't Run Out On Me".  I think I'll be going back to work with my house still in chaos next week.  I hope you enjoy the following pictures I hope to have new finds up next week.

These alarm clocks are flea market finds and are Baby Ben's by Westclox.

The following pictures are from some time spent at the Dahlia farm when we went through their gardens choosing what we were going to order for the following year.

When we were in Keremeos, British Columbia we went to The Old Grist Mill.  It was a lovely spot.

Country Life

I've lived in the country for most of my life.  The following pictures are some scenes of country life.

This sign is on our roads to remind us that farmers still use these roads.  With so many of our farms closing down it's always nice to know some are still supplying our needs.  Of course it's still nice not to end up behind a farm vehicle.

These pictures just remind me of a warm lazy summer day.
