A Look At Things Scottish

Robbie Burn's day is coming up on January 25th 2016 so I decided to post things that have something to do with Scotland. I did a post called "A Little Tartan And Finds" in a January 2014 if you are interested in looking back at it.

These are a few cookie and candy tins I have collected over the years.

I'm afraid this picture didn't turn out that good but as you can see I'm still using it.

I wanted a picture with a selection of different items so here it is.

I was at The Market a local favorite store I love to check out and took pictures of things as I walked around the store. I also found some dining room chairs we bought that I hope to show you in a future post.

The above collage are a few pictures from my 2014 post I mentioned at the beginning of this post.

This brooch I found at a second hand store just before Christmas. I was going to leave it behind as it was a bit more then I wanted to pay but there's something about the thistle design I like in jewelry.

These two Bracelets are Scottish I received them as Christmas gifts from him this past Christmas.

I must admit the one on the left is my favorite.

All the above pieces of jewelry are brooches but the one with red stones it is for wearing a scarf.

I was at a antique show a couple of months ago and came across this mirror and powder compact for a reasonable price so I had to get it.

The above scarf is 100 percent wool made by Johnstons of Elgin in Moray Scotland.

They've been in business since 1797.

This paperweight was a gift to me this past Christmas from some friends it's made by Selkirk Glass Scotland in 1986.

It was a cold frosty day last Sunday and we met up with my cousin his wife and their son who's just over 4 months old now at Wendells in Fort Langley, British Columbia for breakfast then we went for a drive so I could get some pictures which are in the collage above. These are a few I actually took over 222 pictures.

I almost forgot the lamp, it was one of my husbands flea market finds and he told me if I didn't like it we didn't have to keep it. Apparently me calling it the ugly lamp was not a clue to him what I thought of it since he put it up on our family room wall. Last week we had a 4.8 earthquake here and I watched it shaking on the wall hopeful it would fall off and break but no, it stayed up. I guess it's a survivor. Lets hope he doesn't find to many more of these kind of great finds.
