A Final Goodbye And A Mid - Modern Look

Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there.  I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there.  I did not die.

Mary Elizabeth Frye

You may be wondering about the above picture of the graveyard and the poem by Mary Elizabeth Frye it's because this past week I've said goodbye to three different people.  A good friend lost his father a co-worker was a sudden death and a family friend I haven't seen in many years lost her fight against cancer.  So I guess in my own way I'm saying goodbye.

These pictures of historic churches have a bit of a Warhol look to them because I've done some altering to them.  The first picture was taken of the church in Barkerville, British Columbia which is a historical town well worth a visit to.  I've been many times during my childhood and throughout my adult years.  The second picture was taken in Kelowna, Britsh Columbia and the last church picture was taken in Spences Bridge, British Columbia.

The above dishes are Franciscan Ware the Starburst pattern it was introduced in the mid 50's.  It was produced only from 1954 to 1957.  This mid - century modern dish set has a futuristic look to it.

I found this ad for the dishes in Life magazine.

These Pyrex bowls are the Homestead pattern I found at the secondhand store.
