My husband found me about 6 1950's Better Homes And Garden magazines at the local flea market I found this bow tree in it. My friend Joy at (a Vintage Green) is always telling me to take pictures of projects as I do them but yet again I didn't but I will tell you what I did if you are interested.
1. I took 2 pieces of poster board cut out my tree shape then glued the 2 pieces together.
2. Then I took foil wrapping paper and wrapped the tree in it.
3. Then I taped the bows I got at a local dollar store on.
It worked for what I wanted and I think it turned out great.
These are some of my vintage ornaments on my Christmas tree. It's a good thing that I have quite a few since I broke 4 decorating my Christmas tree this year.
This is a picture of a Atomic Age Ornament in one of the 1950's Better Home And Gardens Magazine which I hope to try and make when I have a chance to find what I need at the second hand stores.
This Pyrex ad, 7 Up ad and General Electric ad I found in the December 1957 Better Homes And Gardens Magazine pictured above.
The above pictures are the shelves in my Hoosier decorated for Christmas this year.
This is a picture of my dad's cousin and I think of her co workers with Santa in the late 1950's or early 1960's.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by.
Merry Christmas
Denise

Hi Denise
ReplyDeleteWhat treasures you find, wouldn't it be lovely to know all about the Christmas' your vintage decorations have lived through, the stories they could tell!

Hi Denise,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that Joy encouraged you to share, 'cause I sure like that bow tree idea! I also admire your decorated shelves.
Merry Christmas and Happy Blue Monday!
So many sweet things in this post. I'm in love with your bow tree.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Memories...what time cannot take away. Thank you for this post!!! Merry Christmas!!!
ReplyDeleteYour vintage tree ornaments bring back memories for me and the bow tree is simple but pretty for a wall.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.
Merry Christmas!
Love seeing your vintage ornaments. My mom has several of those, unfortunately I won't see them this year because her new cat is a little enamoured with the tree so it just has the bare essentials this year. Thank you for linking up at the Make it Monday Party! Join us next week for one last party in 2014.
ReplyDeleteYour bow tree is so pretty. That atomic age ornament would make a fun tree topper. Popping over from Make it Monday. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI must find a scrabble game at an estate sale. Love all your little vignettes. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHi Denise,
ReplyDeleteI love the bow tree -- very clever -- hard to beat BHandG -- no matter how old the issue is! Nice find by your hubby. I agree with you. Christmas comes faster each year and is over way too quickly, too. I have a few old glass ornaments that didn't get onto the tree this year. Maybe next year (if I dig the box out of the closet)! Merry Christmas.
Love your bow tree! And the vintage ornaments are lovely. Thanks for sharing at Vintage Bliss Tuesdays! Jo
ReplyDeleteYour bow tree is awesome! Your hoosier display is soooo vintage lovely, too! Thanks so much for stopping by my Let's Talk Vintage link party! Hope to see you again this week on Tuesday morning at 9.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteSorry that it took me so long to comment, but I’m home from the hospital now and using a new laptop.
Thanks for your good wishes.
