Glass, Corning Ware, Plants And The P.N.E.

This post is all over the place it's not the first time and won't be the last.

This blue decanter is not one of my finds but the boyfriends late mother found this beauty.

This Corning Ware ad is from the November 1967 Chatelaine magazine.  You can see some of the pieces of the Cornflower pattern that I have in the picture below.

Along with the few pieces of Cornflower Corning Ware I own is a vintage apron on my mannequin.  The apron has a couple of flaws but reminds me of something Julia Childs would have worn.

This collage of the one Artichoke I grew reminds me of a thistle which I think makes a great picture.

This paperweight I was happy to find it's signed but no one I have asked can make out what it says.

A couple of Sundays ago the boyfriend and I went into Vancouver, British Columbia we met up with my cousin and his girlfriend.  We went to the first food cart event and the above pictures are of it and things around it.

The above picture is of a float which was in a past P.N.E. parade.  The P.N.E. stands for Pacific National Exhibition held around the last two weeks of August in Vancouver, British Columbia.  The fair began in 1910 and still runs today it was only closed from 1941 to 1947 during World War 2.  My grandfather was a carpenter at the P.N.E. until his retirement.  This year the fair runs from August 17th till September 02nd 2013.

  5. Great Corning Ware collection. I have one large casserole that I got for my wedding. I grew artichokes once. Didn't get any to cook, but I liked the plant. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
