Happy Halloween

I hope everyone has a great Halloween.

This clock has been in my family for some time I'm not sure if it's been passed down in the family or my dad found it in his travels.  Its a favorite of mind. The following is the information on the clock face:
Henry Birks And Sons. Ltd.
Seth Thomas
Made in the U.S.A.

These pictures in the collage are from a few years ago from my last Halloween party.  Most of my stuff is gone a friend's son and daughter-in-law do a big Halloween thing and are putting it to good use.

Halloween is about candy so I thought this Life Saver ad from the National Geographic Magazine would fit the Halloween theme.

This olive green Pyrex casserole dish is the Verde pattern.

This small Pyrex bowl is the Butterfly Gold pattern.

This bright green round Pyrex casserole dish is missing it's lid and not in perfect condition.  I've seen this dish a few times but it's always been in rough shape so I decided to get this one.

Old Picture, Coffee, Tea And More

This weekend going to the second hand stores was interesting my thirteen and fourteen year old nieces were staying with us and came to the stores with us.  I could not figure out why they were following me around then it dawned on me they had no money.  I gave them some money and sent them on their way.  At last I was able to look for things and found quite a lot.  Some of the following are some of those finds.

Since Halloween is coming up I thought I would share this picture from the family collection.  Once again I don't know who the people in the costume are but think it is taken in England.

This Pyrex coffee carafe found at the Salvation Army store with everything in the original box.  It's a twelve cup carafe with stand and candle holder.  It looks almost brand new.

This Pyrex teapot also found in a local second hand store.  The cup and saucer is Cremax Pyrex which is Canadian Pyrex.

This metal Jell-o mold reminds me of my grandmother who had them on her kitchen walls when I was growing up.  The first picture is the inside of the mold and the second picture is of the back.

My boyfriend bought me this pink glass flower frog.  It's the first one in pink glass in my collection.  It was found at a local antique store.

A Look At Blue

The following Items all have a blue theme.  Some are finds and one is a family piece.

- The paperweight is a piece signed Caithness Sirocco Scotland.  It makes me think of waves with snow on top.  I found it at a local flea market.
- This bowl is a piece of Blue Mountain Pottery the glaze I believe is Blue Slate.  We won this piece in a silent auction at a local second hand store.
-This necklace is an inexpensive necklace with a blue piece of glass.  I believed it belonged to a great aunt I never new.  I like the design and enjoy wearing it.
- This vintage 1970's Psychedelic Bullseye Fire King mug is another find from our Kamloops, British Columbia road trip this summer.

This Pyrex pattern is called Royal it's a oval blue divided serving dish from 1961.  The lid I thought was not original but after doing some checking I found out this lid is the original lid.  The one thing it did come with which I didn't find is a cradle.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who's celebrating this holiday today.  I did our family dinner on Saturday night and a good time was had by all.  Sunday and Monday we're doing some things around the house and doing some relaxing.  The following items are in harvest colors.

From The Family Collection:
I love the old family pictures that often come out at family gatherings.  This is my great uncle yes I actually know who's in the picture he won quite a few bike races in his younger days.

These small vintage Pyrex refrigerator dishes we've collected at second hand stores and flea markets.

These flour, sugar and tea tins were second hand store finds.

These Blue Mountain Pottery pieces in Harvest Gold my boyfriend found at a flea market for me.

Anchor Hocking mug found on our trip to Kamloops, British Columbia.  Fire King is an Anchor Hocking brand.

These tomato's and garlic were harvested from my garden.  Our tomato crop was late maturing this year.

Thanksgiving Almost Here In Canada

Monday October 08th is Thanksgiving here in Canada and when I think over the past year there's alot to be thankful for.  I have a wonderful boyfriend, a great family, good friends and nothing major has gone wrong.  Of course this past week our dishwasher packed it in and we're cooking the family dinner.  We've ordered a new one which is supposed to be here Wednesday since my boyfriend does not want to do dishes.  He tells me he has better things to do with his time.  Never fear if best layed plans fail I'll have a pair of rubber gloves for him to wear while washing dishes.

These dinner dishes are my good dishes that come out for the family get together.  It's Grindley Creampetal made in England.  The wineglass is Cristal 'd' Arques by Longchamp a long time ago gift from my grandmother.

This vintage chip and dip bowl set was found at a garage sale and has been added to my collection.

Now that the nights are getting cooler this quilt will be a warm addition to our bed I made it with scraps from past quilts I made.
