Easter's Almost Here

This collage is a collection of finds from secondhand stores and flea markets.  The egg basket and glass egg cups hold eggs I dyed.  Painted eggs are being held in Melmac egg cups.  The chicken egg cups hold eggs which are salt and pepper shakers.  I added the teal and pink Fire King mugs for color.  I also added a Pyrex coffee pot which is missing pieces.  The Baking Soda ad is from a magazine and the apron on the mannequin is from Ikea.

These painted eggs I believe are in the Ukrainian style.

This blue egg cup holder was made in Norway and could be a Figgjo Flint egg cup.  The back two in the same style are homemade egg cups.

This Cicely Mary Barker picture with the fairies holding a egg cup seem perfect for this post.

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter.

A Touch Of Green A Little Late

I thought today was St. Patricks day but no it was yesterday so my green finds are a day late.  So happy belated St. Patricks day.  All the following items are secondhand store finds.

This mid modern looking tea set is made by Arklow in the Republic of Ireland the pattern is " Rhythm" by Pat McElheron.

This green enamel flower brooch is one of three enamel brooches I've found.  I saw an idea of using them to make a flower bouquet on goggle images.

This Pyrex bowl is the Spring Blossom 1 pattern.

This is a vintage Canada Dry Pale Ginger Ale pop bottle.

"What A Wonderful World"
I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.
I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Written by Bob Thiele (as George Douglas) and George David Weiss

This song was recorded by Louis Armstrong in 1967 it wasn't a hit in the United States at this time but it went up the charts in the U.K.
I was surprised to learn this as I always associate this song to Louis Armstrong right away it's my favorite song by him.
This song I think fits with the thoughts of Spring.

Coffee On The Mind

This post has a coffee theme it came to me while I was having my morning coffee that my boyfriend picked up at our local Tim Hortons.  All my finds in this post were found at the secondhand stores.

I saw this bag it caught my attention and I decided I had to have it.

These brown stacking mugs with a flower design were made in Japan.  I can remember this type of mug in my grandparents cabin in the 70's.  The Pyrex coffee carafe when I saw it I knew I had to have it.

Where are my sticky notes?  These Blue Mountain ashtrays were supposed to be in my last post.  Yes I forgot I should have had a sticky note to remind me.  I plan to use them as coasters as you can see with the Fire King Mug in the picture.

These Pyrex casserole dishes are in the Colonial Mist pattern they all are missing their lids.

The clear rhinestone brooch is a signed piece by Jay Flex Jewelry.  The company was started in Montreal, Canada in the 1930's and operated till the mid 1960's . The company was known for it's workmanship, design and quality in fashion jewelry. Like my piece many where made with rhinestones on sterling silver.

The blue brooch is an unsigned piece.

Mostly Orange, Green And Blue

The following items are all secondhand store finds from the last two weeks.  I picked up two fairly large boxes of finds this Saturday alone.  These finds will be in my next few blogs.

1950's Atomic Age Eames Glass Cookie Jar.

This 1960 mid century modern California Pottery serving dish is in a Psychedelic design.  These pieces have 872 Calif. U.S.A. stamped on the bottom.  The colors are a red/orange, yellow and avocado green.

This piece caught my eye I believe it is California pottery.  I thought it was stamped on the bottom with U.S.A. Cal. Orici 334 but I found nothing when I tried to research it.  The colors are Avocado with a green and blue hue.

This dish is a piece of Canadian Blue Mountain Pottery.  Located in Collingwood, Ontario founded in 1947 and closed in 2004.

I've added this orange glass flower frog to my collection.

These notecards and envelopes I bought because the pictures worked for a window display.
