Taking Time To Smell The Flowers

You know that saying stop and smell the roses that's what I want to do.  The last few weeks for some reason have felt very hectic.  It's going to be nice having a long weekend next weekend but of course I still have to get through one more week of work.

Even This Channel 22 ad from the November 1967 Chatelaine magazine has a model taking the time to smell the flowers.

These flowers are from around my yard this summer I love being outside and seeing them decorate my yard.

This dress is a blast from the past and has a flower pattern going on.

You can find alot  of these vintage wooden hangers in my closet there something I collect I like the markings on them because they tell a story.

I was at my friends house a couple of weeks ago and took a few pictures around her yard.  Her dog Lily is making her debut in this post.

Glass, Corning Ware, Plants And The P.N.E.

This post is all over the place it's not the first time and won't be the last.

This blue decanter is not one of my finds but the boyfriends late mother found this beauty.

This Corning Ware ad is from the November 1967 Chatelaine magazine.  You can see some of the pieces of the Cornflower pattern that I have in the picture below.

Along with the few pieces of Cornflower Corning Ware I own is a vintage apron on my mannequin.  The apron has a couple of flaws but reminds me of something Julia Childs would have worn.

This collage of the one Artichoke I grew reminds me of a thistle which I think makes a great picture.

This paperweight I was happy to find it's signed but no one I have asked can make out what it says.

A couple of Sundays ago the boyfriend and I went into Vancouver, British Columbia we met up with my cousin and his girlfriend.  We went to the first food cart event and the above pictures are of it and things around it.

The above picture is of a float which was in a past P.N.E. parade.  The P.N.E. stands for Pacific National Exhibition held around the last two weeks of August in Vancouver, British Columbia.  The fair began in 1910 and still runs today it was only closed from 1941 to 1947 during World War 2.  My grandfather was a carpenter at the P.N.E. until his retirement.  This year the fair runs from August 17th till September 02nd 2013.

A Mix Bag Of Finds And The Garden

The following finds have been found over the last few months and I'm finally getting around to posting them.

This is the first paperweight I've found with a person in it.  This child is cute which made me decide to add it to my collection.

This pink enamel flower brooch was a Kamloops, British Columbia find.  It's bright and stands out how could I leave it behind.

This picture is of my boyfriend watering the garden.  I came out the front door this is what I saw so I had to go get my camera to document this moment.

This collage is of our vegetable garden redo.  It's not finished but I know this is how far we're going to get this year.  These pictures are the before, during and after pictures of the project so far.

Since canning season is in full swing I thought I would post these clear and blue canning jars.  I also picked up the apron not long ago at a secondhand store.  The white bowl holding the light blue canning jar is Pyrex.

This white Pyrex bowl is in the above picture I thought it deserved a closer look.  The Pyrex lid it's sitting on has nothing to do with the bowl.

Happy B.C. Day 2013

Today is B.C. Day in British Columbia so I hope all B.C.er's have a great holiday.

I found this 12 cup Pyrex carafe quite awhile ago it is in a earlier post.  On our trip to Kamloops, British Columbia a few weeks ago I found this small Pyrex carafe in the above picture.  The milkglass coffee container was also in a previous post.  The coasters in the stand are a new find, they are marked British Columbia and have the Dogwood flower on them which is our Provincial flower.

I left my boyfriend at home sleeping Saturday morning and went for a pedicure and haircut then I decided to hit the local secondhand stores.  I found the chair in the above picture me an another lady spotted it at the same time but I was faster by a second so it came home with me.

This house design I found in Canada's July 1967 Chatelaine Magazine it's a Souvenir Centennial Issue.  I like finding vintage ad's this one was for Chatelaine Home Planning Book.  The above design is "Gustavo da roza's winning design of the Canadian Lumberman's Association contest."

This is a piece of art glass made by Chalet Canada.  I saw it at our local Salvation Army and when the price dropped I had to get it.

This pink Dahlia is from my yard.
