Weddings, Photo's And Fire King

This past week I've not had time to get out and look for some new finds so the following are some items I haven't had time to post.  On Saturday we had a garage sale that went well though the rain did not stay away the whole time.  We had  quite a few people, including some interesting characters.

This collage of photo items are finds, gifts and family items.

I'm storing my grandmother's vintage wedding dress for my mother.  My grandmother would have worn it in November 1943.

The necklace on the top is made by Sherman and a birthday gift to me from my boyfriend.

The necklace on the bottom is Scottish.

From The Family Collection

This picture of these flowers made me think of something you would see at a wedding.

I took this picture of a wedding cake topper at the antique mall.

I saw this classic Limousine stop and some grad students all dressed up got out.  I had to go over and have a look I should write information down when I get it but of course I don't if I remember right I believe he said it was a 1938.

I found the Fire King Jadeite mugs at the local secondhand store last week.

Out In The Yard

This past week has been really quite busy and this long weekend every free minute has been spent in the garden which we are redoing.  Then I remember I needed to do my post.  So except for one find here are some pictures from around my yard.

This paperweight with a flower in it is a garage sale find.

British Finds And More

On Monday May the 20th its Victoria Day here in British Columbia, Canada so I thought I would post some British items I have found.

This lovely cup and saucer is by Alfred Meakin of England.  The only thing I could find the pattern being called was Bird and Flower.  If you know the pattern name I would love to know what it is.  I found the teabag holder at a local secondhand store, I've never seen one like this so I had to buy it.

Plates of the Royal Family

Top:
King George the 5th and Queen Mary 1910 - 1936.
King Edward the 8th January 20th 1936 to December 11th 1936 when he abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson.
Bottom:
King George the 6th and Queen Elizabeth 1936 - 1952.
Queen Elizabeth the 2nd and Prince Phillip 1952 to present.

The first picture is postcards of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd and her family.
The second picture is of a biscuit tin of Trafalgar Square and in front is a toy model of a double decker bus, Harrods delivery truck and a mini.
I found the photo of King George the 6st and Queen Elizabeth on tour in Vancouver, British Columbia May 24th 1939 in an old album I found in a local secondhand store.
I was at a flea market when I found this tray of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd.  The vendor who I bought it off of is one of my favourites to barter with.

This paperweight was a garage sale find.  It does have a sticker on the bottom but it is to faded to read.  It's a great addition to my collection.

The two yellow Pyrex dishes are the small dishes from the refrigerator set I found both with the lids.  The salt and pepper shakers in Corning Ware in the Blue Cornflower pattern.  And a Corning Ware 4 Cup Starburst coffee carafe.

A Drive And Finds

This post has some pictures from a drive we took last Sunday.  And some finds found at the secondhand stores.

I stopped on a country road and picked up some flowers at this stand.

These pictures are from the drive.

This collage is a blast from the past with this dress.  I'm guessing it's from the late 1960's or early 70's.
The chip bowl is missing the dip bowl and holder but I thought it would make a good salad bowl.
The pineapple looking candle is in colors I like and was kind of different.

This mug was made in Sadler England I'm guessing late 1960's or early 70's.

These leather purses remind me of ones I had as a kid in the 1970's.

This is the middle size in the refrigerator set I believe it's the Butterfly 2 pattern.

I've finally got four wheels in the garage.  I've wanted a gardening wagon for awhile.  I found this one last week at a secondhand store.  Sadly my truck still sits in the driveway.
